Specify any genres you play or are interested in exploring.
I play any type of music. Folk used to be my main inspiration. I also enjoy rock and electric guitar riffs. A vamp band would be neat. I'm also interested in an electronic band or something that uses a synth and guitars and may or may not have electronic beats.
Describe your musical background and interests.
I started playing sax in fourth grade and moved on to guitar in high school. The first things I did musically were school events and small recitals, where I learned to play jazz and improvise on alto saxophone. My first real musical involvement began in 10th grade with a band called "Overbite." Since then, I've evolved into a better musician and have been involved in a few projects. In my hometown, a bunch of good friends and I would play music, and by the end of high school we had played numerous gigs under the name "DBF," including the Hope in Motion Cancer Walk in Stamford, CT. The name changed to "St. Mungo's Churn" after we recorded an EP (called "DBF"). The band consisted of Howe Pearson (Wesleyan '12), John Herbster (Loyola Maryland '12), Charlie Skelsey (Purchase '13), and Sam Rosenfeld (Brown '12). Sam and I had been collaborating throughout high school with various instruments since playing in jazz band together, and now we've gone on to form a musical project called "Salmon Fill." Together, we have performed for many types of audiences and for many different events mostly in the Providence area. We currently are writing music and are constantly performing, recording, and playing our instruments, for ourselves or for other people. We are always in collaboration with other musicians and we hope to incorporate many different talents in our productions.
